Robots

We recently checked this book out at the library.

Dallin and I sat together and drew a couple of the robots from the book.  After that Dallin got creative on his own and since then has spent hours drawing and cutting out dozens of robots.  Here are some of my favorites.

One night I was exhausted and discouraged after a long day.  I headed for bed and was greeted by this guy, taped to my bed.

It cheered me right up.   (Rocket boosters?...Cool!)

No More Band

Lose-the-band-day came and went last Monday, and Brandt is now helmet-free!  His head shape improved significantly, and we're so happy he's done with treatment!  He wore the DOC band for over three months and during that time he changed and grew, as all babies do, and we're tickled to be able to really see him again!

If you look closely you'll see that he has a few bumps and bruises on his pristine forehead and I think it's been a bit of a transition for him because he grew so used to having the protective helmet on.  It saved him many a bump and bruise, I'll tell you that.  I was actually sort of glad he had to wear the band while he was learning to walk, just for that added layer of protection.   And in case you're wondering, those are Adam's feet jumping on the couch behind Brandt.  I thought we had a rule about that...

Running Circles

Both of my grandparents' houses had running circles.  You know, where you can run from the kitchen to the living room, down the hall, and back to the kitchen again?  And again.  And again.  As I kid I remember doing that and loving it.  This house has two running circles.  A little one and a big one.  My boys discovered them right away.  And this afternoon it made me smile to see Adam and Brandt giggling with glee as they ran from the kitchen to the living room and and around again.  And again.
